Nuitville: Pleasant surprise

Nuitville is Ukrainian blackgaze one-man project, created by the artist and musician Tristan Nuit. The idea of creation and beginning of work took start in 2012, but the final versions of songs were recorded in 2015-2018, the artwork on the new EP was drawn in 2019. When The Darkness Falls became the debut EP album, dedicated to the Night, like to the alive phenomenon, cradle of calmness and inspiration.

The EP have nice mixture of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  adding in  a  good  amount  of  melody. Atmospheric sounding synths start off the EP but there are also much shoegaze elements. A contrast to the shoegaze is the injection of blast beats and tremolo picking that adds a raw feeling. The alternation between clear singing and black metal screams also give contrasts. The production of When The Darkness Falls is actually very good, and the album is a pleasant surprise.
