Uburen Album - The Mountains Weep

Founded under a different name in 2006 by guitarist Ask Kjetilson, bassplayer Bior Kjetilson and the drummer Thord Olavson the band re-named from Skyggegjemsel and went under Uburen band name from 2010. Uburen are from Sandnes in Norway and black metal/Viking metal. Uburen muscians have a mutual ideology of resurfacing the Viking folklore with a serious sound and focus on the darker and melancholic parts. The track Oskoreia,
The music is ferocious and harsh, but is full of underlying melodies that adds a real majestic and monumental feel. With a wide variety of vocals shrieks, growls to spoken words and clean shouting. Uncompromising with the lyrics and musical style Uburen have chosen to self-record and release their last two albums to great success. The band explain the meaning of their name the following way, «The word Uburen is based on old Norse, and can not be directly translated into English, but its meaning would be, carried out or cast out. It is said that desperate mothers who didn’t see any other way out for their weak and unwanted babies, would throw them off the edge of the mountain»! The track Mountains Weep,
Uburen has performed since 2011 through Poland, Germany, Russia, Scotland, Portugal, and Mexico. Uburen has played festivals such as Hostile Terrortory (Nor), Opole Metal festival (Pl), Barther Metal Open Air (Ger), Headlined Beer mosh & Unity (Mex) and Darkness is Forever Festival (P) and is set up to headline Manchester slaughter feast (UK) and Dark paths fest (Ger) 2019.
