Lazleitt: Mash-up of words!
Lazleitt - Perpetually Under Idle Grounds

Last year the band Lazleitt released their debut On The Brink, and now they are back with four new musicians. Three days ago the second album Perpetually Under Idle Grounds was released. The line-up: Liz Tapia (Dark Beauty): vocals, David Knowles (The Swan Chorus): keyboards, Carlos Hernandez (Tree Of Life): lead guitar, Alex Lazcano: guitars, bass, keyboards, piano and vocals, Eric Gillette: drums and lead guitars.
Lazleitt started out as an eclectic progrmusical project by Washington, DC songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist Alex Lazcano, in collaboration with drummer Jorge Cortes Cuyas (ex-Paciencia De Gato), & special guests. The band name of Lazleitt is a mash-up (portmanteau) of the words Lazcano and Light.
It is almost without exception always a good twist to not copy the previous album. Much better to explore new musical ground, and be adventurous and come up with new music. This time Lazcano had done thing quite different. They explore and expand the focus of the music and this time the music is much more melodic and written on a 12-string acoustic and piano. The debut album was actually mostly written on electric guitar and bass.
