Twisted Tales: Aimed at surprising the listener

When a surname ends on vic or nic it`s often Serbians. Ljubiša Đorđević – Vocals and Rhythm Guitars, Miša Milovanović – Lead Guitars, Nemanja Velicki – Drums and Stevan Dinić – Bass. Together they are the muscians in the band Twisted Tales. They will soon release their sophmore album Bringer Of Woe

Twisted tales are death metal/thrash metal band from Kuršumlija, founded on 8th of December 2004. Kuršumlija (Serbian Cyrillic: Куршумлија, pronounced [kurʃǔmlija]) is a little town but obviously there are enough residents to form a pretty good metal band. Fifteeen years ago four long time friends and lifelong metal fans decided they wanted to play their own music instead of rehashing others’ music time and time again. Twisted Tales recorded their first demo in mid 2005, entitled Behind Gates Of Eternity. The band ceased to exist shortly after. In early 2009 three of the founding members of the band gathered again, and crystallized the band’s sound as a mixture of old school and new school of thrash metal music. After lots of gigging and beer drinking across Serbia, they went to studio and in 2012 they published their first album called We Shall Be Heard. The album received mostly favorable reviews, and upon its release the band continued touring around Serbia. In 2014 they had their first experience playing abroad, touring Poland and Slovakia, together with Russian death metal band Tacit Fury. Afterwards they started working on new songs for the follow-up. This record he band did it in their own studio, which they like to call the Twisted Studios, just for the hack of it, everything, from recording to mixing the whole thing, so they could  well be labeled a DIY band :).

Bringer Of Woe is somewhat an old school thrash/death metal album comprised of 12 songs, with the duration of about one hour. The band`s intention was to create a more aggressive, raw, and live sounding album with lots of different motifs, varying from those more typical for the genre, to those of classic heavy metal. And of course, there was a lot of experimenting with awkward harmonies, exotic scales, peculiar rhythms and other stuff aimed at surprising the listener! Lyrically the album deals with personal matters like loss, anger, frustration, questioning the faith, addiction, and interpersonal relations.
