Lucius Annaeus Seneca was a Roman playwright, and in a work of humorist, philosopher and politician, the son of Seneca the elder and his older brother was Gallio. Seneca was a short time teacher of Emperor Nero. In addition Seneca is a band. The band hailing from southern Finger Lakes region of New York (Elmira-Corning-Horseheads). The band was first formed in the early ’90s and recorded, released their first album, and performed regionally for about 6 years before the members disbanded to pursue other musical projects. However they e all remained close friends and collaborated musically the past 3-4 years to record their second albumand to perform several reunion shows with hopefully more to come. Their music has been and is influenced by such bands as Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Doobie Brothers, Little Feat, and Genesis.
