The village name Piotrków Trybunalski comes from the diminutive form of the Polish edition of the name Peter (Piotr – Piotrek). The band Subterfuge from Piotrków Trybunalski has their Piotr in the form of saxophone player Piotr Grąbkowski. In addition Piotr Grąbkowski have six fellow musicians. Kinga Lis with vocal, Mateusz Drzewicz with vocal, Witek Nowak handel the bass, Adam Nowak with synths, the drummer is Bartek Grochulski and Tyberiusz Słodkiewicz with guitars. Subterfuge have their special approach to prog metal with some death metal elements and they sound often very intriguing. The lyrics deals with many subject as for instance dystopian future. The song structures is rather often complex but the music are more than enough catchy. The different vocals switching from the female and male clean vocals to the guttural and harsh ones are very nice. The music is dynamic and varied with dreamy parties with acoustic guitar followed by synths. There are fast parts, theatric sounds and much good riffing. Aliens have a aggressive atmosphere and cool space sound. Those who enjoy heavy music with twist and turns and a special touch should absolutely check out Subterfuge.
