Husmanskost deliver a healthy dose of DIY Experimental Blackened Grindcore/Crossover on their new EP Solstice II. The EP was recorded at Husmanskost Records, and mixed/mastered by John-Åge Olsen.
Husmanskost was formed in 2015 at Kristiansund, Norway by John-Åge Olsen (vocals), Kai Kofoed (guitar/bass) and Niklas Mortensen (drums). In the past 5 years the band released 4 albums, 2 EP’s and 2 Splits. Right now the band is working on a exclusive track for the United Nations Grindcore 2020 compilations by The Hills Are Dead Records.
The band are still to this day experimenting with their genre. They started mainly as a Grindcore band but, in their last albums you can hear everything from Thrash/Death/Black/Grind to other subgenres. Genres are not so important as long as the songs are well stitched together with intensity and atmosphere. From album to album the band keeps changing up the formula and are always trying to improve the sound and songwriting. It works well as a trio, and they keep it DIY, all writing, and recording, mixing is done by themselves. Self-made is often well done!
They have also been featured on 3 international compilations, 3 splits this year. They serve you real Norwegian Husmanskost!
