junXion: Stories and rabbits from Plant X!

For unknown reasons, some bands choose to release new albums at the end of the year. Then they are guaranteed that they will not be on any year’s best lists! junXion is among those band. The album Stories Of The Revolution is the latest effort to the Dutch band junXion. The band was founded ten years ago and plays epic modern day ‘70’s progressive rock.

The band’s core business is telling stories, stories that take place on Planet X, somewhere far in the future, however inspired by current reality on Earth. For that, the band combines various styles, such as jazz/fusion, electronics and metal, with unexpected twists. Artists such as Steven Wilson, Pink Floyd, Camel and Ayreon are some of the many sources to inspiration.

The sound of the 4-man core is enriched with selected guest artists from various disciplines to reinforce the stories being told, stories based on cultural and social problems, philosophy, politics, science… and rabbits!

Junxion (they themselves write it as junXion) is a Dutch epic modern rock bandfounded ten years ago. The band members are fans of science fiction, but inspired by our earthly cultural and social problems, philosophy, politics and science.

The core of Junxion consists of foursome Julian Heerkens (bass guitar), Martijn Hak (keys), Roel Trommelen (drums) and Maarten Jung (guitar). In 2017, the debut album Inevitable Red was released.
