Sonsombre is by many considered to be the most exciting music to happen to Goth music in a decade. In many ways they are a harder version of the band Nosferatu. The album have more than a fair amount of dark and creepy atmosphere, thanks in large part to the addition of pipe organ pieces on tracks such as the very nice track Highgate.
The only moment of levity comes in the form of the album’s closer, a somewhat bleakly hopeful piece that ends the album on a bittersweet note. Sonsombre is synonymous with bleak landscapes, broken cemeteries, and crows in foggy barren wastelands. Sonsombre are known for catchy lyrics and driving dance floor anthems, while mastering a classic sound that never seems stale.
