Kristoffer Gildenlöw is a Swedish musician and singer-songwriter, best known for being the bassist of Swedish progressive rock band Pain Of Salvation. Kristoffer Gildenlöw studied piano, drums, double bass, guitar, classical vocals and music design at Karlskoga Folkhögskola KM-Studios in Karlskoga, Sweden. Ha also member of the Dutch band Kayak and band as Dark Suns and Dial.
Gildenlöw latest work is his solo album Homebound. He states, «Due to current circumstances, we have made the decision to postpone the official release of Homebound until after the summer. Kristoffer Gildenlöw has recorded and toured with number of great bands and artist over the past 25 years, including Pain of Salvation, Neal Morse, Kayak, For All We Know, Damian Wilson, Mr Fastfinger and many more.
In 2003, Kristoffer Gildenlöw left Sweden to reside in The Netherlands. In 2006, after 11 years together, Kristoffer Gildenlöw split ways with Pain Of Salvation and spent the next six years focusing on creating his first solo album. But he also remained active in the music scene, recording bass, double bass, cello and vocals for various artists and bands all over the world. In addition to studio recordings, Kristoffer Gildenlöw is in high demand for his bass skills as a session musician for live performances and touring. As session musician from 1995 until present day, Kristoffer Gildenlöw has performed on over thirty studio recordings of many prominent artists and bands and alongside his own career, Kristoffer Gildenlöw is still an active session musician.
