Robert Svilpa - To Sleep Perchance To Dream

Robert Svilpa is a Danville, CA based independent prog artist and musician. Formerly of the band Paraesthesia – the critically acclaimed Seattle based prog band that existed from 2007 until 2018. Svilpa have released three album as a solo artist, Onion (2000), The Sound Of Thoughts (2005) & A Fine Line Between… (2009).
In September Svilpa finally is back with new music and the album To Sleep Perchance To Dream. Svilpa must have had many musical ideas in stock because the newalbum is on huge 100 minutes. The track Dreamscape – Level 1,
On the new album Robert Svilpa plays guitars, keyboards, bass and he sings. In addition he uses a musical trend in what he has with him many guest musicians. Thomas Lang – drums/percussion (1, 4, 7), Andy Edwards (IQ, Frost*, Cyan, Ezra, Magenta) – drums & percussion (6, 10, 12), John Jowitt (Arena, Frost*, IQ, Jadis) – bass guitar (6, 10, 12), Jimmy Keegan (Spock’s Beard, Pattern-Seeking Animals) – drums & percussion (3, 9), Jeffrey McCormack – drums & percussion (8, 11) and Marc Miller (Yezda Urfa) – bass guitars, Chapman Stick.
Robert Svilpa is a guitarist, keyboardist, singer and songwriter from the U.S. In 2005, he joined with keyboardist and vocalist Paul Harrington and bassist Mark Parris – the latter two going under the band name Paraesthesia – to release his first album The Sound Of Thoughts. Svilpa has a wide variety of influences, including bands from the prog genre, but he also has several influences outside of the prog realm.
