In addition the two friends soon will release the self-titled album Magni brimming with fascinating music. In Norse mythology, Móði (anglicized Módi or Mothi) and Magni are the sons of Thor. Their names translate to “Wrath” and “Mighty,” respectively. Rudolf Simek states that, along with Thor’s daughter Þrúðr (“Strength”), they embody their father’s features.
Magni is also a new gothic folk project from Clint Listing (Until The Sky Dies / As All Die) has published a new video for the track Ragnarok, which is taken from the band’s self-titled EP, set to be released via Dead Games Records on September 4, 2020. The track Ragnarok,
Magni was created by Clint Listing out of a Until The Sky Dies session (Dark Post Doom Metal), as he was looking to bring in ideas of his old project As All Die (Martial Industrial meets Neo Folk) and the love for bands like Tenhi, Antimatter and Of the Wand And The Moon.
Line-up: Clint Listing – Voice/Guitars and
Ryan Michalski – Strings, Drums, Guitar and vocals on track 3
Magni has brought his lifelong belief in Asatru with that Dark Gothic Folk style and a bit of that Black metal style within. The name Magni comes as mentioned above from a son of Thor and you will feel that heathen element throughout. Forget all you know about Clint Listing before as this is a brand new direction for him. A full-length album was announced for 2021.
