Our Oceans: Explores a much wider range of sounds…..
Our Oceans – While Time Disappears
Some days ago Our Oceans released the album While Time Disappears. The band talk about the new album in this way, «And now for something completely different! One of the main goals we had for While Time Disappears, was to allow ourselves to explore a much wider range of sounds and emotions than before. The result is a much more diverse album than our debut, as I think the contrast between Unravel and The Heart’s Whisper will perfectly illustrate».
Lyrics:
I put your head on my chest
So you can hear my heart’s whisper confess
I crave your love, the taste of your lips
Your trembling sigh under my fingertips
Oh why do you scorn the words I give you?
Don’t you see they were made just for you?
Please listen to the unspoken words
The whispering heart in my eyes
I’ve listened to your breath and the sigh of your heart
Just this one single morning, serenity unmarred
Oh why do I scorn the words you give me?
Cause I know they were meant just for me
I should listen to the unspoken words
The whispering heart in your eyes
As it bursts out of my ribs into your soft and selfless hands
Wring out the red flowing truth and swallow me down
Now this is what you really mean to me
Oh why do you scorn the words I give you?
Don’t you see they were made just for you?
We should listen to the unspoken words
The screaming heart in your eyes
Lyrics:
This all concealing tapestry I’ve been hiding behind; my angel, my friend
That I’ve been weaving all my life; my shadow, my end
But now your ragged seams give in
The mirror’s eyes touch my skin
The unraveling must begin
At last…
I cast my pain aside
Bare the fiber untouched
Remnant scraps of fear collide
And primal roots shine in the hush
My unquenchable necessity, to be seen as I am; without a stitch
Its lust smothers all my fire; paralyzing to the fringe
Stitched unto my skin
Swallowing all within
The unraveling must begin
At last…
I cast my pain aside
Bare the fiber untouched
Remnant scraps of fear collide
And primal roots burst through the crust
I feel the rain of a thousand eyes caress my virgin flesh
No more doubt, no more fear and no more pain;
Unburdened, I face the end
I’ll say goodbye now, my friend
I cast my pain aside
Bare the fiber untouched
Remnant scraps of fear collide
And primal roots shine in the hush
The band states, «Our Oceans’ inventive progressive rock centers on haunting vocal melodies that carry heartfelt cries of longing, anger and despair. Bolstered by lyrical fretless bass lines, vigorous drum beats and captivating guitar riffs, Our Oceans lace singer/songwriter influences with modern, progressive rock elements. Mindful musicianship and introspective lyrics are woven into a deeply melancholic, yet uniquely expansive musical universe. Our Oceans is a band from The Netherlands, formed by singer & guitarist Tymon Kruidenier (Cynic, Exivious). Joining him on bass and drums are his former Exivious colleagues, Robin Zielhorst (Cynic, Onegodless) and Yuma Van Eekelen (Quadvium, Pestilence)».
