Indonesian stoner rock band Santikarisma released its first live series of three-chapter Virtual Session on Jan 29th, 2021. The band tries a different way to bring a brand new experience to enjoy music performances, directed by Rifqi Fadhlurahman.
Santikarisma opened the first chapter of Virtual Session with a song entitled Dogmatis featuring Vajra. Their latest single released in December 2019, has become a turning point for Santikarisma since they play such a different music style that rarely heard before. In more than 6 minutes long, this Virtual Session also features such visual exploration and Santikarisma’s epic stage performance.
The stoner rock group from Semarang, Santikarisma, has returned to the rock music arena. After making their debut album, Sugestivisi in 2017 which was directed by the Disaster Records label, the quintet consisting of Rio (vocals), Riki (guitar), Isa (guitar), Okky (bass) and Achmad Sofyan on drums did not hesitate to beat the hot asphalt in Java Island.
Born from the margins of the music industry, Santikarisma is aware of the fact that their work has not been able to sustain life. At least for now. For that, each personnel continues to work in their respective fields to keep this fire burning. Unrest has become more and more unstoppable since the pandemic has destroyed everything, especially those related to the music stage.
In this condition, initiations appear to present a different experience in enjoying musical performances. Santikarisma summarized all the worries through the headline Virtual Session. This Virtual Session is divided into three rounds where each round, Santikarisma will present their flagship song directed by the director from Jakarta, Rifqi Fadhlurrahman.
In the first round, the Santikarisma Virtual Session was opened through a song entitled Dogmatis. Their latest single, which was released in December 2019, is a turning point for Santikarisma after the album Sugestivisi was lost in the swiftness of digital music. This number is performed in a Santikarisma style that is rarely seen before. More than 6 minutes long, the first half of this Virtual Session features visual exploration and Santikarisma’s epic stage performance.
Santikarisma through this project does not want to prove anything other than to manifest all the unrest that has erupted since several years ago. This group also admits that their creative process is slow due to several factors as mentioned above. For this reason, after the trilogy of the Virtual Session is completed they will return to complete their second full album which was delayed.
