Phantom Scimitar: Ponders the mechanics of the Universe…..
Phantom Scimitar - Electric Nemeton

Phantom Scimitar is a four-piece psychedelic art rock band from the DC/Baltimore area, where they’ve regularly performed original music at regional venues since 2017. With the aid of kaleidoscope and fractal animations, Phantom Scimitar provides a memorable audio and visual psychedelic journey! Lyrically they explore ancient civilizations and ponder the mechanics of the Universe. Electric Nemeton is their sophomore album and that album was released some weeks ago.

Drawing on influences as varied as The Sword, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull, Phantom Scimitar brings an auditory experience unlike anything else coming out of Laurel, MD. Experiencing large success in the live circuit prior to the pandemic, Phantom Scimitar moved to the recording studio after COVID-19 halted touring for most bands, and immediately got to work, completing the entirety of their second album, Electric Nemeton, between March of 2020 and January of 2021.
They spilled onto the DMV psychedelic rock scene with fervor in 2017, and Phantom Scimitar comes ever-ready to bliss your eardrums. Blending philosophical poetry with quality musicianship, all mixed with a healthy dose of feedback and flange, Phantom Scimitar reminds us of a time when bands were making music to push the boundaries of the art medium as far as it could go, a la The Electric Prunes and The Grateful Dead.
