Ciccada: Unique blend of rock, jazz, folk and Western European traditional music….
Ciccada - Harvest

On 23rd April Bad Elephant Music announce the release of Harvest, the third album from Greek progressive rock combo Ciccada.
Ciccada’s sound is a unique blend of rock, jazz, folk and Western European traditional music. It is based on strong melodic lines, drawing on influences from the progressive greats of the 1970s, such as Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Camel, Gryphon, Strawbs, Renaissance, Hatfield & The North, Spirogyra and Curved Air.
Harvest, the band’s first full-length release since 2016’s The Finest Of Miracles, sees Ciccada on fine form, with six new pieces featuring their trademark blend of acoustic and electric instrumentation, woodwind and reeds, all fronted by the twin vocal attack of Dimi Spela and Evangelia Kozoni.
Harvest will be released worldwide on CD and digital formats on 23rd April 2021, with pre-orders opening in on March 5th.
Ciccada was formed in 2005 by flutist and keyboard player Nicolas Nikolopoulos and guitarist Yorgos
Mouchos, joined shortly afterwards by Evangelia Kozoni on vocals. The trio released their debut album, A Child In The Mirror, in 2010 via Altrock Productions, featuring guest performances from members of well respected Italian bands Yugen and DFA. In 2011 Ciccada contributed She Went For Love to the Colossus project Decameron (a 4-CD collection of songs inspired by Boccacio’s collection of tales from the 14th century), with a further offering entitled The Statement appearing on Colossus’ 2012 box, The Stories Of H.P. Lovecraft – A Synphonic Collection.
The band also developed a live presence, including at the Jazz & Πραξεις festival in Patras, Greece (June 2011), and the 6th Altrock/Fading festival in Milan (June 2013), sharing the bill with Wobbler, Ske and Humble Grumble.
A second album, The Finest Of Miracles, was released in February 2015, with the band remaining loyal to their classical, folk and jazz roots, proffering an art-rock album building on the unique style created by the debut. The following year saw a vinyl mini-album, Tales, featuring remixed and remastered versions of the songs released on the Colossus collections.
Fast forward to 2021, and Ciccada return as mentioned above with their third album, Harvest, released through British label Bad Elephant Music.
