Vreid: Melodic black metal and football……

I`m very interested in music as most people might know, but I`m also a huge football enthusiast and very interested in that sport. Then I was pretty fascinated when I heard this:

The Norwegian football club Sogndal will play with a black metal band logo on their chest!

Vreid has played for 20,000 people in Mexico, and toured all over the world. Last summer, they streamed a concert from Sogndalsdalen, which 140,000 people saw during the three days the recording was out.

«It has been our football and hard rock since childhood for us. That we are now with our logo on the chest of our childhood club is a bit surreal, and we are enormously proud», says Jarle Kvåle in Vreid.

The logo is located in the middle of the chest, right next to the club logo, and will be there all season.

Vreid has been active since 2004. They rose from the ashes of the band Windir after the death of frontman Valfar. Vreid was formed by three former Windir members and a new guitarist, Ese, who was replaced by former Windir guitarist Strom in 2010, making the connection with Windir even stronger than before. Norwegian black ‘n roll brigade Vreid have returned with their ninth album Wild North West on which the band pushed their vision to new heights. Wild North West is not just a collection of songs but a concept album that developed alongside an entire movie. Throughout eight chapters the listener will be taken on a journey deep into the mountains, to a dark place where the borders between reality and fantasy fade and where death is only one step behind you: The Wild North West.  Release date: April 30, 2021.
