Ruttenskalle: With new band name!

The solo act Oldskull, from the Portuguese musician/producer Paulo Soares, just changed name to Ruttenskalle.

The main reason behind this name change, it’s the knowledge of the existence of an already existent band also called Oldskull (from Thailand).

«Since this is a new project, which was announced about a month ago, with the release of just a single in the format of digital release (and music video), this was the right thing to do at this early stage, and also to avoid possible future mishmash with Thailand’s act».

The new and definitive name is Ruttenskull and also new logo art is created by Paulo Soares himself. Ruttenskull means Rotten Skull in Swedish language.

Ruttenskalle is an Old School Death Metal project, created in 2020 by the Portuguese musician/producer Paulo Soares (Rageful, Torn Fabriks). The upcoming self-titled debut will consist in a 10-track release, inspired by the Old School Swedish Death Metal scene from the 90’s (Entombed, Dismember, Unleshead) but the release format is still unknown, as the project is currently seeking for a label to release. Paulo Soares is an old-school metalhead, known in the underground Portuguese metal scene for his work as a drummer and producer in some local bands such as Rageful (formerly Wall Of Death) ) and Torn Fabriks, but he is also a skilled multi-instrumentalist/vocalist who have been doing some work at his own music studio (Oldskull Sound Studios)

The idea behind the creation of this project has some years old, but only now, due to the current pandemic world situation, was possible to him to properly re-record some old demos and write new songs, with the goal of releasing a full-length Album.
