There are two band with the name Iceland, one thrash metal band from France, and one death/black metal band from Poland according to metal archives. The same archives list 3 death metal band from Iceland, but not Devine Defilement.

Nevertheless Icelandic Death Metal band Devine Defilement have released their new single «Psuedopsychotic Possession». The single was written and recorded during the Covid-19 pandemic and tells the story of Michael Taylor, who murdered his wife after an exorcism by the local pastors. It was recorded at L87 Studio by Guitarist Snorri Björnsson, mix and mastering by Haukur Hannes, and artwork by Andkill Art. The band states, «Note: The content of this video is dramatized for artistic purposes!».

«During the covid-19 pandemic, Devine Defilement has bunkered down and recorded a handful of single to be released through 2021. Pseudopsychotic Possession was inspired by the case of Michael Taylor who brutally murdered his wife after getting exorcised. This video was made by the DD crew and made possible with the help of good friends».

In the short time since their inception Devine Defilement have been hard at work to carve a path through the Icelandic underground and proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with! Their blend of various death metal sub-genres makes for a ferocious mix of grooves, slams, blast beats, and even some moments of melodic dissonance. Their live show is energetic and gets heads banging and pits raging! 2019 was busy year for Devine Defilement. Their debut album Obliviora was released to positive reviews, and the band toured Europe in support of brutal death legends Lividity

Icelandic Death Metal band Devine Defilement new single Crucificial Lobotomy is from their EP Primitive Gospel that that was released on the 1st of March. The EP was recorded by Snorri Björnsson at L87 Studio, and mix/mastered by Haukur Hannes.

Devine Defilement was formed in 2016 at Reykjavík, Iceland by Arni Hoffritz (Guitar) and Stefán Friðriksson (drums). The band released their debut album Obliviora in 2019 and toured Iceland. The new EP presents the band new vocalist Ingólfur Ólafsson that joined the band last year.
