Nuclear Winter: Metal music, tobacco, gold, sugar, maize, fruits….

Nuclear Winter - Greystone

Zimbabwe important export goods are tobacco, gold, nickel, cotton, asbestos, sugar, maize, fruits and vegetables. There is very little export of metal music, and reablly only a decent band historically. Dividing The Element a heavy metal and from Harare, but now a new Harare band emerge!

Nuclear Winter joins the Zimbabwe metal scene, helmed by Gary Stautmeister. With the experience of playing in several bands over the years having sharpened his skills, the young composer has channeled his love of melodic death metal and alternative rock across four releases thus far, the latest of which entitled Greystone.

After the success of his previous EP Stormscapes Zimbabwean one man metal band Nuclear Winter is set to unleash Greystone in May 2021.

Band mastermind Gary Stautmeister commented «I’m very happy to have completed this new album titled Greystone. I was aiming to produce something heavy but also more electronic than my previous EP. It was quite challenging mix-wise because each song uses a slightly different sound on the drums/bass/guitars, but I feel the overall production is an improvement from my previous work, and the songs are now hopefully more distinct from each other. I especially like Corridor Of Shells – which is about a battle in which the surrendering army brings shame to their country».
