Chalk Portraits represents a shimmer of hope among the vast, dark soundscapes of ambiance. Memory, the 2nd installment of this one man ambient project, summons wide panoramas of nature: from the crumpled lands to the menacing seas, taking the listener from place to place without ever revealing when and where this unique sound came from. New Jersey-based musician Greg Kennelty, mastermind behind Chalk Portraits comments: «Memory is heavily inspired by the works of Light In The Attic-type ambient artists like Hiroshi Yoshimura, the synth magic of Mort Garson, and the music you hear in the non-country portions of EPCOT. Memory is an adventure into another space where sounds shimmer all around you». The track Memory III

Memory marks steadily growing sonic diversity for Chalk Portraits and demands to be listened to with full attention. With every new turn in this masterpiece, it reveals more of its secrets and rewards the listener with a rich treasure of fascinating details.
