Areis: Gloomy and diversified music from Bagnols-sur-Cèze……

Areis (meaning to raise in ancient Occitan), is a band from Bagnols-sur-Cèze (France), in the Occitania region. The quartet takes inspiration in music genres such as hardcore, black metal, post-hardcore and punk which they’ve blended, using dark, occult and Occitanian-themed lyrics, into no nonsense, gloomy music. Areis was formed in 2019 by members from Kombur and Right To The Void.

Lyrics on the track Under The Sun:

I am the ceaseless wheel

The last scholar of the Sun

Now free from the seal

The one true Light has returned

Under the Sun

Of Occitania

Bring back the age of fire

And burn the face of the Earth

Bring back the age of fire

And burn the face of the Earth

I am the ruthless beam

The first disciple of the dawn

As far as the eyes can see

The one true Light has returned

Under the Sun

Of Occitania

Bring back the age of fire

And burn the face of the Earth

Bring back the age of fire

And burn the face of the Earth
