Smokestack Faerie: Read my story, and the story of Smokestack Faerie…..

Smokestack Faerie is a progressive rock project about love, loneliness and the world around us. Smokestack Faerie is based in Vaasa, Finlan and Tim Reus is the maestro and the songwriter and bassist. The band offer a versatile world of sound and inventive rhythms and all in all a real good record with the debut album Lanterns Fade.

Reus states, «In my music, I like to combine complex but appealing arrangements with metaphorical or poetic language. Since 2020, I’ve been recruiting my friends to record and release my music. Read my story, and the story of Smokestack Faerie, below!».

«I began writing music in my early teens, and started playing bass not long after. My musical direction developed under the strong influence of Marillion, IQ, Genesis, Jethro Tull and David Bowie. Outside of my music, I work as a song translation scholar and Anglicist, and fill my free time with fiction writing and playing games, like a nerd».

«This project was created in 2020, when I realised that I had a lot of music that others might enjoy, too. Smokestack Faerie represents a magical-realistic atmosphere, a search for emotional growth and a fragile care for the beauty that exists in our world. I hope to inspire people to change and grow, but I already consider my work successful if I can just give people a moment of peace in this fast-moving world».
