Ian Scott Anderson was born 10 August 1947 in Dunfermline, Scotland. He is a British vocalist, guitarist and flutist. Since 1968, he has sung and played t in the rock band Jethro Tull.
Anderson has performed several times with several of the world’s major symphony orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the recording A Classic case from 1994. He has written, composed, arranged and performed his own music since he as a student together with Mick Abrahams helped start Jethro Tull.
His lyrics are known for their advanced prose and clear articulation while the music is melodic and in rhythmic style. One of Ian Anderson’s talents is his breadth in instrument use, both in rhythm, string and wind instruments.
Ian Anderson is one of the musicians I admire most, and in addition he seems to be a very nice man. I have been to a concert with Jethro Tull and it was the very best concert I have ever attended!
Some weeks ago Permafrost was rather enthusiastic because Jethro Tull now have completed a new album titled The Zealot Gene, which can be expected in early 2022.
