Cary Heuchert: A vast musical spectrum…..

Cary Heuchert - Hourglass

Multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter, Cary Heuchert, is based in Vancouver, Canada. His first album, the atmospheric Nocturna And Other Stories, was released in 2012, which was followed by Blue Rain in 2014, an album which has gained some favorable attention. In 2021, Cary released a new album, Hourglass, featuring keyboardist, Tony Pagliuca (Le Orme) on You Are the World To Me.

Hourglass (Oddiyo Records, Canada, 2021) is as mentioned above the third album by Canadian multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter, Cary Heuchert. A vast musical spectrum of progressive folk, space rock, symphonic prog, psychedelia, and rock. As with his previous effort, Blue Rain, Cary Heuchert sings and plays many of the instruments himself, with the addition of veteran drummer, Grant Ball, on seven tracks, and bassist Collin Wade on three songs. Some exciting noteworthy guest appearances by Tony Pagliuca (Le Orme) who plays piano on You Are The World to Me, Jay Semko (The Northern Pikes) who sings harmony vocals on Forever And So Far, and Miles Hill (famed Canadian jazz musician) who plays 5-string fretless bass on When Fortune Smiles.

Heuchert is originally from Saskatoon but have relocated to Vancouver. After a career as photographer and ESL teacher, he set up a home studio in 2009 and worked painstakingly to release prog music. The first album was largely instrumental symphonic folk while the second was more vocal oriented while including a wider variety of instrumentation.Unlike a lot of artists, Cary Heuchert do not hesitant to call himself a fan of prog rock, and his Facebook page has attracted a following for his expertise on the subject.

About Ulf Backstrøm (7231 Articles)
Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
