Ravenous: Take a journey with us to an arcade tower in Japan….

Ravenous – Hubris

Ravenous E.H combines elements of speed, thrash, power, doom, black, and progressive metal into one heavy, uniform, streamlined package…
Metallum Heroica Celeritas – Heroic Speed Metal!

Ravenous and their new album Hubris due out October 22nd via Feast Beast Records (NA/EU) / Spiritual Beast (Asia).

«Take a journey with us to an arcade tower in Japan and experience the sensory overload equivalent to a Kaiju battle in an early-2000’s anime. Die 1000 Deaths was R. A. Voltaire’s delirious and frantic output in the chemically imbalanced early days of the Covid-19 pandemic and underwent zero changes from its initial structure and tone. He based the lyrics off of Akuma – his favourite Street Fighter character – to properly represent the feeling and themes of the music».

«Try and stay calm as Akuma takes over your computer in the Die 1000 Deaths video! » Lyrics: «Eyes that burn like fire, and teeth as sharp as blades Demonic and infernal tremble when his power wakes (Flash Of Death) Dark Demigod (Demon King) Titan of Fear (Warriors). To bring heaven’s fall Kill your master, feed your pride, I decide who lives or dies Once I’ve killed my shadow side, my rage will crack the sky Fearsome Giant Violence is king in his domain… fear his reign Fade to nothing Feel the surge of murderous intent… final breath Die On Thousand Deaths! Hearing your last right, sends shivers down your spine Gone is his humanity, he craves the will to fight (Flash Of Death).

No remorse (Demon King) Supremacy (Warrios). Destroyer of all Raging demon, deadly strikes, mountains break beneath my might Burden of your sins combined, punishment divine Fearsome Giant Violence is king in his domain… fear his reign Fade to nothing Feel the surge of murderous intent… final breath Die One Thousand Deaths! Foolish mortal, leave my sight, I’ll set heaven’s gates alight Strength of flesh cannot decide, what power lurks inside Fearsome Giant Violence is king in his domain… fear his reign Fade to nothing Feel the surge of murderous intent… final breath Die One Thousand Death! Destiny is calling for you warriors to kneel All of this existence shall be crushed beneath my heel Those who dare to summon me lie twisting in my hand If you dare survive, fight for your life!

For fans of Blind Guardian, Falconer, Powerwolf, Sabaton, Unleash the Archers, the album was produced by Ravenous with mixing and mastering done by Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, Opeth, Firewind) along with album guests Vincent Jake Jones of Aether Realm, Heinrich Yoshio of Aether Realm, Mathias Blad of Falconer, Nina Osegueda Of A Sound of Thunder, The Dread Crew Of Oddwood (Full Band).

This will be the second full-length release, following 2019’s Eat The Falle”, and 2017’s Eternal Hunger EP. Working collaboratively, so that the strengths of each musician can stand out and compliment the others, Ravenous have grown from doing basic fist-pumping heavy metal songs into writing complex, dense, and multilayered dark symphonic power metal anthems. The band doesn’t just caw about hunger, they take lyrical inspiration from personal experiences, books, movies, games, (especially Magic: the Gathering), classic poetry, folklore, and historical events. They explain the album in their own words:

«Lyrically, the album tells 10 stories from various sources all surrounding Hubris, the notion of arrogance and the hunger for power, resulting in the demise of the story’s main characters – beneath the surface, hidden messages are scattered throughout various lyrical lines that pertain to the band’s real-life experiences. Musically, the album is the marriage of European Anthemic Power Metal and American Speed Metal, with a penchant for speed and aggression accentuating the dynamics of the music». – Ravenous.

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
