Thedeepstate: With biting satire and cinematic prog….

The Dead Are Rising is the third album from Thedeepstate. Released 03/09/21. This video contains excerpts of some of the album and has been described as a «Biting Satire».

Thedeepstate offers very, very good and exciting story-telling cinematic prog on their new album The Dead Are Rising. An album with forty-five-minutes-minutes soundtrack skillfully allows the grisly plot to unwind, with short clips directly from the original movie’s soundtrack telling the terrifying tale.

Thedeepstate are an progressive music duo by Ralph Cardall – guitar/ keys etc  and James Sedge – drums/ percussion.

Cardall and Sedge have been playing music together for a long time and toured UK and European in 1995. They both have a deep love of progressive and instrumental soundtrack music and decided to collaborate on Thedeepstate music project. Their music is inspired by bands such as (early) Genesis, Yes, Rush and King Crimson but clearly not bound to them.

You can hear the progressive fingerprint of Mellotrons, Moog synths, acoustic guitars, odd time signatures, and wild soloing. The music is instrumental and has a cinematic/soundtrack feel with pieces that are allowed to stretch out and tell a musical story. Both James and Ralph play and produce music and video, for Tomas Doncker from NYC. Tomas Doncker has worked with many top artists including Funkadelic, Amp Fiddler, Madonna, Yoko Ono, Bootsy Collins and Bill Laswell.
