One of the privileges of being a music journalist is that I meet a huge number of very nice industry people. I also meet many incredibly talented musicians who all too often do not get the recognition they deserve. It is extremely unfair so I do my best to write about such talented artists.
Devcord is a studio project. The album Dysthymia is a dream which came true for an enthusiastic musician, songwriter and composer three years ago. Now Peter Royburger is back with his sophomore album Godisnowhere.
Devcord was launched in 2014. The band consists of one musician Peter Royburger who is in charge of everything – from songwriting and playing all instruments to production. Inspired by bands like Opeth, Extol, Wilderun, The Faceless, Haken, Porcupine Tree and many more, he tries to pay tribute to these bands with his music and thus fulfills himself a dream with the hope that others will enjoy it as well. The debut Dysthymia came out in 2018. The second album Godisnowhere was released in September 2021.
