Perseide: Reflects the various influences of the members.

Perseide – The Only Thing

Guillaume, Adrien, Julien and Anthony are four childhood friends. They have grown up in the same town called Saint Laurent De Mure near Lyon in France, and they met each other at elementary school.

In 2001, as they were just teenagers, they decided to form a rock band, to do the same as their idols, like Marylin Manson for Julien, Korn for Guillaume, Dream Theater for Adrien and Sum 41 for Anthony! None of them had ever made music before, except Adrien who was already playing the guitar. A night while they where hanging out together in the local Skate Park, drinking beers and listening to music, they chose their roles in the band: Guillaume played the bass because his brother had been playing the bass, Anthony played the drums because his uncle was a drummer, Adrien played the guitar and Julien chose to be the vocalist! This was the birth of Perseide.

During the first years of the band, they had learned playing music together: they first covered songs from bands like Nirvana, System Of A Down, Metallica, but not only. They also wrote music from their own creations. Their songs sounded like a mix between old school metal, metalcore and alternative pop rock. Meanwhile, they started playing gigs in their hometown.

In 2009, they were spotted by OrageRock label, and everything went fast: they recorded two EP in 2009 (Requiem For Sad Stories) and 2010 (Disco Before Death) and began playing across the borders, in EU and US, with bands like Soilwork, Betraying The Martyrs, We Butter The Bread With Butter, Cancer Bats…

In 2014, they decided to put the band in Stand By because of their studies, and the departure of Anthony to New Caledonia.

3 years later, in 2017, with Anthony coming back, they decided to restart the band where it had stopped. Determinate to catch up the lost time, they directly wrote 10 brand new songs and went back in studio to record them in 2018, with their longtime sound designer friend Olivier Didillon.

It has resulted in the birth of their first album: The Only Thing.

Their Label OrageRock doesn’t exist anymore, but they found in their path Domino Media Group, a relation press agency who believed in them, and helped them go back under the spotlights.

May 2020, The Only Thing was released and the band didn’t expect the positive feedback! Comments and reviews are just amazing: old school fans are still present to support the project, and new fans are coming along!

While the promotion is going on, with the crisis situation due to Covid19 and the struggle to play live, they decided to go back again in studio to record new singles for 2021!

They are more motivated than ever before and they want to prove that they can bring unity around Perseide, as Perseide united them!

The Only Thing is the first album from the band Perseide. It’s a 10 tracks record which reflects the various influences of the members. A mix between old school metal, nu metal, metal core, pop and alternative rock! This album is the result of all the years of four friends who have learned playing music together!

Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk.
