There are many very good and skilled band coming out of Poland and a new and exciting band for me is Light Entanglement Machine 2021. Light Entanglement Machine 2021 a special music project to commemorate 100th anniversary of Stanislaw Lem’s birthday.

Light Entanglement Machine 2021 is prog band but they adds elements of many other styles and the result is a fascianting and distictive music. Into the melting pot the band have element of electronica, jazz, classical music. Their self-titled debut album is a concept album.

Lem’s books is very essential in the lyrics: Cosmic evolution in The Space Fugue, Nucleosynthesis) the puzzle of consciousness in Awareness, space travel In Missing Android, and the creation of the intelligent machine in The First Light, Entanglement, Machine Intelligence.

The Light Entanglement Machine 2021 project and its self-titled album is inspired by the works of Stanisław Lem on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous writer.

The mastermind of the project and composer of the music is Przemysław Piekarz, who between 2007 and 2011 was a keyboard player in Hipgnosis band (using Ijon pseudonim).

The album of the project was recorded between May 2020 and September 2021 with participation of Krakow’s musicians: guitarists Filip Goddard Wyrwa (Hipgnosis, Twelve Moons, Xposure) and Wojciech Bochniak (Rivendell, Callabrijon), bass player Krzysztof Wyrwa (Millenium, Frittata, Twelve Moons) and drummer Grzegorz Bauer (Millenium, Another Pink Floyd, Frittata, Twelve Moons). The youngest generation of musicians is represented by violinist Joanna Hebda and bass guitarist Bartłomiej Bochniak (Better Than Worse, Moon Radio District).

 The Light Entanglement Machine term refers to the vision of a super-intelligent digital machine described in the book Golem XIV.
