Following the release of their new album Rise Forth, US folk metal outfit Siren`s Rain have unleashed a new lyric video for their epic single Keepers.
Keepers, the first single off of Siren’s Rain’s upcoming first full-length album features mandolin and group vocals. Keepers describes the apocalyptic battle for the planet between greedy corporations and environmental protectors. The song was crafted to showcase an identifiable folk metal vibe in both melody and rhythm».
Rise Forth is a powerhouse of heavy, distorted sounds and ornate harmonies. The metal composition creates an epic backdrop for the exquisitely crafted folk instrumentation that explores both the serene and the dark. Siren`s Rain have produced an album that is compelling, emotive and transcends the temporal plains.
The band comments: «Founded in 2014 by William Beritich and Irene Hellzinger, Siren’s Rain deliver heavy riffs, haunting vocals and ethereal melodies using a vast array of traditional folk instruments. Drawing musical influences from the likes of Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, and Nightwish. Siren’s Rain combine deeply emotive and powerful sounds with fascinating lyrics. Much of their lyrical writing is inspired by mythology of the Pacific Northwest, occasionally venturing further afield with global legends and ghost stories». The track Corporeal Chains,
The band comments:
«Corporeal Chains features the introduction of the nyckelharpa to the band’s instrumentation. The instrument provides a sinister, ominous tonality on this track. The song has a restless, unsettling feel to it with the juxtaposition of the clean vocals and the monster-like vocals. The lyrics describe Rena’s battle with Lyme disease, feeling poisoned by, or inhabited by little monsters in the body and the struggle with chronic illness».
During their career, the folk metallers have headlined events such as The Black Stage at Seattle Hempfest (2018), Olympia Hempfest (2016), and The Washington State Midsummer Renaissance Faire (2017). Gaining further recognition in the realms of folk metal, they opened for Korpikalaani and Arkona in 2018.
