Isobar – Isobar II

Isobar is a progressive rock band based in San Jose, California. Their music is comprised of all-instrumental, intricately- crafted songs, covering a wide range of musical territory. The new album Isobar II continues with their unique style of instrumental progressive music – unusual melodies, unpredictable harmonic changes, shifting time signatures, interesting arrangements, and tight, interwoven musical figures.
Isobar and their debut is comprised of all-instrumental, intricately-crafted songs, covering a wide range of musical territory. All three band musicians were members of the prog band Metaphor. Additionally,
Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) states on Bandcamp, «Isobar do the miracle again, and give us a splendid new prog album, that’s both extremely complex, as well as completely free of silly and unnecessary pseudo-prog ingredients. That’s how prog should be, in my opinion! The 5-part The Jury Of Ten Men Suite (tracks 6-10) is some of the best stuff I’ve found this year. And Mattias Olsson on drums is the icing on the cake. BTW, my original songwriting credits were wrong – Malcolm Smith creates most of the material, with the other two contributing. Favorite track: The Suppressor Of The Archives».
