Empire Bathtub is narrative-driven-comedic-progressive-metal band aiming to deliver little something different.
Looney Moons 3: Return Of The Fuh King sounds as a title of a book or a film but is an album from US outfit Empire Bathtub and their third. The band obviously release an album each year! In 2020 came the debut Looney Moons and 2021 the band released 2 Looney 2 Moons. And as mentioned above this year Looney Moons 3: Return Of The Fuh King, and the trilogy is completed.
The band states, «We are excited to announce Looney Moons 3: Return Of The Fuh King! The third and final chapter of Looney Moons has been in the works for a while now, and we couldn’t be more excited to get it released.
The Fuh King is back from the dead, and that can’t be good for Boss and Tars! The Fuh King wants his throne back, but it’s currently occupied by TARS, the troll ass robot that killed him. Per usual, Boss is caught in the middle. What will happen in the conclusion of Looney Moons!?
Keep an eye out in early 2022 as our weird progressive metal space saga comes to a close! Empire Bathtub from Houston, Texas started as a solo project by founder Stephen Forristal in 2019. Soon after Jonah Robertson was recruited to provide narration and vocals. The band’s first quirky album Looney Moons was released in 2020, and soon after, the band started working on their follow-up album, an album that continued the story of the Tool-loving alien introduced in the debut album.
The music utilizes an interesting combination of organic instrumentation and programming to come up with a heavy blend of prog that exists on the line of progressive metal and heavy prog with plenty of don’t-take-this-too-seriously humor in the lyrics.
The band cites their influences as The Mercury Tree, Leprous, Cheeto`s Magazine, Tool, Coheed And Cambria and Follow The Sun.
Says, «This Is Fine is where our heroes, Boss and Tars, are celebrating the fact that, finally, after two albums of grueling conflict, everything seems to be going their way! Nothing says party like throwing caution to the wind with a bunch of aliens on another planet. In all the excitement, Boss might be celebrating a bit too hard. He decides to try a new beverage that one of the planet’s residents offers to him, and gets a familiar feeling he hasn’t felt since Tars drugged him in album 1. It’s a good thing there isn’t an angry zombie king returning to claim his throne! What could possibly go wrong!?».
«This Is Fine combines elements of progressive metal, funk, psychedelic rock, 80s pop, and of course, comedy. If you’re looking for a song with fusion and lore, don’t miss This Is Fine».
