Waters Project - It's What You Do To Me
The Waters Project, the bluesy rock project of David Lee Waters has revealed their video for the track It’s What You Do To Me. The song is a dark tale about how love and passion can share a secret place in a single heart.
LYRICS:
WE DANCE A FINE LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND PAIN
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
YOUR HANDS ARE WRAPPED AROUND MY THROAT AGAIN
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
DRAGGIN’ ME INTO DARKNESS GOT ME LOCKED UP STAIRS WAITING
ANTICIPATING ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
YOUR KISS…STINGS LIKE A THOUSAND WORDS NO ONE SHOULD HEAR
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
LIGHTS OUT DEAD SILENCE LIPS SO NEAR
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
SUCH GLORY WHISPERED IN MY EAR EYES SHUT TIGHT SHOW NO FEAR
HOT TEARS – BABY……. ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
KISS ME LIKE YOU LIKE IT…..MAKE IT LAST ALL NIGHT
KISS ME LIKE YOU LIKE IT ….DON’T TURN ON THE LIGHTS…
YOUR CRAZY HEARTS A POUNDING POUNDING BEAT
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
YOUR WILD LEGS BREAKIN’ ME DOWN SO SWEET
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
BURNING WINGS CAN’T TAKE YOUR HEAT
FALL ON HALO’D GROUND AT YOUR FEET
A LOVE SUPREME ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
KISS ME LIKE YOU LIKE IT…..MAKE IT LAST ALL NIGHT
KISS ME LIKE YOU LIKE IT ….DON’T TURN ON THE LIGHTS…
IN THE NEXT ROOM OVER I HEAR YOU CRASHING ROUND
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
MY DOORS UNLOCKED NO NEED TO POUND
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
WE DANCE A FINE LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND PAIN
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
YOUR HANDS ARE WRAPPED AROUND MY THROAT AGAIN
ITS WHAT YOU DO TO ME
ONLY GONNA FIND ONE WAY OUT LOOK ME IN THE EYES CUT MY MOUTH
I’M KNOCKED OUT BABE
IT’S WHAT YOU DO TO ME
David Waters comments:
«The song It’s What You Do To Me explores the tension between what one may feel comfortable with when expressing love for someone – and the secret passions that we might be afraid to admit to, accept or want to explore but are afraid to».
«Your kiss stings like a thousand words no one should hear speaks to a struggle to hold onto our image of ourselves that we present in public, when its too late to contain our secret passions. The fine line of intimacy has been crossed».
«I wanted to present the contrasting worlds of the ballet dancer by day / exotic dancer by night leading her double life – the woman in the church, supposedly there to pray for heavenly salvation but her inner self is an exploding fantasy».
«You never know who you’ll meet behind closed doors».
The Waters Project is an original rock band from NYC founded in the fall of 2014 by songwriter David Lee Waters as a creative outlet for the original music he has created over his 40+ years as a highly regarded live and session guitar player in his musical community. Much of his inspiration comes from his favorite artists such as Pete Townsend, Tom Petty, Neil Young/Crazy Horse, Pretenders, AC/DC, Pearl Jam and many others. After spending many years as a sideman for a variety of songwriters in his hometown of Cleveland, Boston and NYC David finally recruited a band of fellow veteran NYC players to realize the ‘sounds in my head’ as he likes to put it. The Waters Project consists of David on lead guitar and vocals, Waters Project: With Aadark tale about how love and passion can share a secret place in a single heart.
