R.I.P. Trygve Thue

It reports Bergens Tidende, which gets the news confirmed from Thue’s son, Jørgen Thue. The son states that the father has had dementia for several years, but that he managed to continue working with music despite the illness. Music was one of the last things he responded to and performed. The joy of the music hung with him until the very end, says Jørgen Thue to the newspaper.
Trygve Thue was the brother of Ove Thue, artist and composer, who died of the disease ALS in January this year – 70 years old. The brothers formed the rock group Saft over 50 years ago, for which they won the Spellemann Prize. They were also the prime movers for the dance band Brødrene Thue in the 70’s.
Trygve Thue ran his own studio for many decades and has produced music for famous artists such as Bjørn Eidsvåg, Jan Eggum, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Rune Larsen and the late Gustav Lorentzen. Saft and their song People In Motion,
The band Saft was probably little known outside Norway’s borders, but was a pioneer band and an incredibly popular band in Norway. Saft was at the forefront when rhythmic music was established in Norway, and everyone who was young in the 60s and 70s knew about Saft. Wikipedia has defined Saft’s music as prog!
