Officina F.Lli Seravalle: With a homage to Venice!

Officina F.Lli Seravalle – Ledros

Officina F.Lli Seravalle is the brainchild Allesandro Seravalle and now he is back with the new release Ledros which is probably a word from Greece! Ledros is the fourth album from Servalle. Servalle brothers are back with an album that ove again is mysterious and exiting in a very good way! The psychedelic sphere is explored and the music features are characterized by modular sound that is rooted in jazz rock in John Cage’s provocations. Officina F.Lli Seravalle have an attractive use of instruments that often is beyond its mass expression and always is within the limits of audibility.

Modular programming is a technique in software design that emphasizes separating the functionality of a computer program into independent modules, each of which contains everything necessary to perform only a single aspect of the desired functionality.

The musical visions of Seravalle broyhers merge in this place, what comes out is a music with a strong psychedelic taste marked by a clear experimental element and at the same time by a firm anchor in groove. Music for the body and for the mind which comes alive thanks to every impression or drive passing in their neighborhood.

It’s heterogeneous music, never prone to rest in any acquired standpoint, with a deliberately weaving style. Officina .F.lli Seravalle offers music with a strong psychedelic taste marked by a clear experimental elements.

The excellent track Vignesia is a homage to Venice and taken from the new album and the lyrisc is taken from Italo Calvino’s The invisible cities. Video by Selene Caisutti.

Officina: In classical Latin “workshop, manufactory, laboratory,” contraction of *opificina, from opifex (genitive opificis) “worker, workman, maker, doer” (from opus “work,” from PIE root *op- “to work, produce in abundance”) + -fex, -ficis “maker, one who does,” from facere “to do, make” (from PIE root *dhe- “to set, put”)

I`m from the southernmost part of Norway and we are close to Denmark. We have a very strange and special language with the name Sørlandsk. This phenomena is also a fact in the extreme north-east of Italy close to the border of both Austria and Slovenia. The language is named Friulian, and all three album titles from Officina .F.lli Seravalle use Friulian langue in the title.

The concept running over the work (just to escape in different directions in spite of the principle of non-contradiction seen here as the symbol of the “straight” we criticize) is dual: on the one hand the gaze overturning towards the inside, quick rays of feeble light illuminating the inner nooks, inquiring eyestaking hold of murking lights, secretions (not only biochemical) and corporal silences (G.Ceronetti), just as diversions, cuttlefish inks hiding from view and protecting the ones whoinhabit us (B. Gracián); on the other hand the upside down turning of the everydaycustomary thought.

And thus the clairvoyance becomes ill-fated (E. Cioran) while futility gets sublime (O. Spengler), Prometheus shows his atrocious face and calls for his negative (Cioran again), the rich ones complete their stealth revolution to the detriment of the ones who own nothing (W. Brown), Oblomov (I. Gončarov) stands as a model for a mankind that, due to an extreme urge for action, prepares its self-destruction and poisons the biosphere as planet Earth, unconcerned about every living being fate, peacefully keeps on orbiting…and then more or less distant digressions…motorways, weird dizziness places, the wine and the curls of smoke, the factory, the most beautiful of the cities…
