Dear Hunter: Feels like the beginning of something truly special.
Dear Hunter - Antimai
Dear Hunter is a very good crossover prog ensemble and here are the track Ring 7 – Industry taken form the band`s ninth album Antmai. This album is long-awaited and was released July 1st. The album is a concept of The Indigo Child, Antimai acts as an atlas of the fictional world’s last remaining metropolis, exploring its social hierarchy from the outside in.
Cyrae says about the song, «This is so much better than my already inflated expectations could have predicted. It’s so groovy and fun, with that underlying darkness that only this band can pull off. It’s been so rewarding following The Dear Hunter since Act 2. This feels like the beginning of something truly special. I can’t wait to finally see you guys in August».
The band`s maestro Casey Crescenzo comments, «We first began playing this song in late 2019, touring an unfinished version in the hopes of slowly introducing listeners to the sound of an album we’d hoped to release the following year. Having recorded a majority of our instrumentation in January and early February of 2020, we took a short break with the intent of reconvening in mid March to wrap up work».
«Things evolved as they did, and the record’s future became more and more uncertain with the decreasing likelihood of a traditional promotional/touring cycle ahead. But what started as a demoralizing situation slowly metamorphosed into an amazing opportunity to revisit the record with a completely fresh perspective. And slowly, piece by piece, we completed Antimai without any concern of when, or if, it would ever be heard—focusing solely on making a record we wanted to listen to».
Dear Hunter was originally a side project by guitarist and vocalist Casey Crescenzo of post-hardcore band The Receiving End Of Sirens. On leaving that band, Crescenzo worked on Dear Hunter fulltime, producing ‘Act 1: The Lake South, The River North’ as the first part of a six-album concept concerning the life of a boy at the turn of the 20th Century. After its release Crescenzo recruited Luke Dent (Keyboards), Erick Sema (Guitar), Sam Dent (drums) and Josh Reault (bass) to record the second part of the hexology ‘Act 2: The Meaning of, and All Things Regarding Ms. Leading’ and toured extensively to promote its release. During this time Reault and the Dent brothers left the band, leaving only Crescendo and Sema. But Crescendo certainly found other very good musicans.
