Insomnia Continuum – Against The Fall Of Night

Russian melodic heavy metal band Insomnia Continuum released their new single Against The Fall Of Night. The single was recorded in the band’s home studio, and mixed/mastered at Varlamov Studio by Sergey Varlamov.

Lyrics:

[verse 1]

There’s a shadow

Hanging over Diaspar

Fear of change,

It has driven us so far

It has become our guiding star

All around us,

Don’t they see this frightening shade?

Closing their eyes

Dancing on a razor blade

Reflecting in the flames of hate…

[chorus 1]

M:

Once I thought I could fight

Against the Fall of Night

I thought that it was in my hands,

F:

But don’t you realize

That we are paralyzed

And every step made no sense?

[verse 2]

Storm is coming

I can almost feel its breath

The dividing

Line between the ones of different faith

Is getting thicker day by day

A sudden burst

Threw us all to different sides

A sudden wind

Blew out all those Tiny lights

Here’s now the land of deepest night

[chorus 2]

You see, we cannot fight

Against the Fall of Night,

You see it’s out of our hands,

We had to harden our hearts

And now we’re split apart

It seems we couldn’t care less

[alter verse]

What should I do in this uncertain time?

It does not seem to matter…

Does anything here depend on me

If I’m just a grain of sand?

We used to be so united and brave

But now we are scattered

It seems that now everyone’s for himself

There is no helping hand

[chorus 3]

If we have the strength to raise

The fire that never dies,

Then it will spark hope in the hearts of friends,

Believe there is the light

Beyond the Fall of Night

This light is born in our hands

Insomnia Continuum was formed in Moscow in 2020 by Marina Pavlova (vocals), Boris Sergeev (vocals) and Alexey Matveichev (guitar). Inspired by the music of Blind Guardian, Helloween and Falconer, as well as masterpieces of English romantic poetry, the musicians recorded two singles – The Listeners and Insomnia in 2020. The events of February 2022 influenced the band’s music and lyrics – the music became harder, drier, moving away from fantasy metal with a clear influence of folk closer to classic heavy / progressive metal.
