Some elephant info today: White elephant is an expression of an expensive object that an owner has difficulty getting rid of, and which costs more in operation and maintenance than it manages to bring in in terms of income or benefit. Within the development assistance context, the term is used as a term for a negative or unsuccessful development assistance project. The term originates from the white elephants in Southeast Asia, which were seen as sacred animals and could neither be put to work nor killed. Kings in Siam (modern-day Thailand), for example, gave away white elephants as gifts to their enemies in an attempt to ruin the recipient through their associated costs.
In addition is White Elephant is the highly anticipated debut album from the band Aeveris. Aeveris is a Belgian metal band that combines heavy riffs with catchy vocals and technical drumbeats. Aeveris are Jeffrey Behiels and Dennis Wyffels on guitar, Louis Soenens on vocals, Pieter Nyckees on bass and Louis Van Der Linden on drums. The track Center.Point.

In order to promote the album, Aeveris will release the title track early September with a creative music video. Two more singles will follow in late September and October, each with their own visualizer and specialized promotion. The album was recorded and mixed at Shellshock Studio. The grand release of White Elephant will take place on November 4th with a spectacular show, with no expenses spared, at the brand-new Cactus Club in Bruges. During the following weeks, Aeveris will be touring Belgium to introduce their album to a wider range of people and spread the White Elephant spectacle across the country.
