Wardruna: Inspired by ancient runic poetry.

The official Fehu live video from First Flight Of The White Raven by Wardruna.

Official Fehu Lyrics in OLdnorwgian

Fe vældur frænda rogi

føðesk ulfr i skogi

Fe er firða gaman

Frænda rogu

gravseiðis gata

Ormen ligg i kveile

i løyndom vakar under

Som ei helufallen åker

Strig dom frender råker

English Fehu Lyrics:

Wealth cause strife among friends

The wolf feeds in the forest

Wealth is joy to man

strife among kin

path of the viper

The snake lies in coils

Hidden, it waits below

like a frost-ridden field

Strife that kinsmen suffer

Official Fehu Lyrics in English:

Fe vældur frenda rogi

Föðesk ulfr in the forest

Fairy is the fourth fun

Cousin rogu

gravseiðis gata

The worm lies in a coil

secretly watching below

Like a completely fallen field

Strig dom fränder happens

English Fehu Lyrics ( with some untranslated  words in Oldnorwegian):

Wealth causes strife among friends

The wolf feeds in the forest

Wealth is joy to man

strife among kin

path of the viper

The snake lies in coils

Hidden, it waits below

like a frost-ridden field

Strife that kinsmen suffer

Earlier this month Wardruna announced that the release date for their First Flight Of The White Raven was moved back to 10 June due to a very unfortunate production issue. The track Solringen,

Einar Selvik comments: «Fehu is a song inspired by ancient runic poetry. The word itself refers to cattle/livestock and wealth and the song discusses the duality of wealthiness. The song was originally released on the album Runaljod – Yggdrasil in 2013. It has been a permanent song in our live-set ever since the release and thus, it feels great to finally release a live version of the song!».

Kvitravn – First Flight Of The White Raven is a pretty unique album that once again demonstrates the power of nature and tradition still have in the modern world in an intense, fascianting and beautiful way.
