Wax Mekanix – With own distinct sound!

Freak Boutique is an award winning hair salon situated in Glasgow, Scotland using only high-quality cosmetic products and tools. Much more relevant for Permafrost today is that Freak Boutique is a very, very good song!

Wax Mekanix have we written about a couple of times and now there are a new video named Freak Boutique dropped by Electric Talon Records. It`s a pleasure to again work with this skilled musicians,

and as bonus her make very intriguing and distinctive music, and he is also a very nice man.

This new video is in support of Mobocracy Deluxe. The record was released on October 28 via Electric Talon Records as jewel case, streaming, and digital download on the label’s Bandcamp page.

«Along with Mobocracy: Deluxe is a video for my groovy jam, Freak Boutique. American filmmaker Alex Wagoner made the creepy stark video for Blunt’s Manchester Strawberry Blonde, so I wanted to work more with him to whip up something more retro and trippy to demonstrate Freak Boutique’s notion of societal duality, personal courage, collective cowardice, and the inevitable cost to anyone that exhibits public displays of individuality and bravery», – Wax

God is watching.

That’s always been a sobering notion that’s haunted me for as long as I can remember. Manchester Strawberry Blonde is the manifestation of the heartbreak I feel every time innocents are visited by senseless harm, inflicted in a cold-blooded way by others convinced that some kind of violence will move what is perceived as an important needle, toward their deluded preference. Every instance is uniquely gut-wrenching, breathtaking, and brutally bizarre.

Love one another. Be no fool in the eyes of the Lord. Full fucking stop. – Wax Mekanix

«As the album goes on, however, it is clear that Wax has his own sound and to me becomes something like a heavy metal Mike Patton (I love Mike Patton), with all of his vocal acrobatics. In every song, the layering of the vocals is genius and adds a great deal to the impressive feel of the album. These songs are fully realized. Some of them sound a bit like Bad Religion to me and share some of the same biting content, though unlike Bad Religion, it’s hard to pinpoint where Wax is coming from religiously» – Prism Reviews.
