Violent Years – This Is War
Unfortunately every year is a violent year, but there are only one band named Violent Years and they have a new single with the suitable name This Is War.
2nd single «This Is War was written very fast, it just came» says Kenneth Bringsdal who penned the lyrics 1,5 year before the war in Ukraine. Not trying to pretend we’re are a psychic band or anything, but this song was an authentic inspired moment. Meant to be a Cold War paranoid story based on my own nightmares it became a real thing.
On first single The Lonely Saint ( 25/8) is the newest single from Norwegian indie veterans The Violent years; a track full of sonic drama and a person’s inner fight to break out of the mental prison he/she lives in. A post pandemic homage to all of you that keep hanging on!
The Violent Years emerged out of the muddy sumps behind the sunny facade of the coastal small town Mandal, Norway. As a fun fact this town is where I live now. Their music is definitely a blend of various inspirations from the innovative chord-changes The Beatles developed, to the emotional transcendental exploit of Americana and alternative country.
