Jumpscare is a melodic death metal band hailing from Napoli, Italy and they try to carve their own style. Combining the North European melodic death metal sound (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, At The Gates) with the first wave of the U.S. modern metal scene (Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God, Darkest Hour, As I Lay Dying, Winds Of Plague) with elements of symphonic and melodic music. Jumpscare was established at the end of 2015 by a close circle of lifetime friends. During 2016 and 2017 they released two EP`s and a bunch of split releases. Kirion Silvano is the new front man in the band which is the main responsible about the creation of lyrics and vocal lines. Although it’s not a concept album lyrical themes are around one topic, It is a criticism in its entirety to all modernity and to the whole system of life that surrounds us, it is an invitation to reawaken consciences to understand that no one can impose our lifestyle on us and that we must make our voice heard. A different world is possible, Don’t Close Your Eyes!

In particular, Seventh Circle was inspired by the Dante Alighieri’s Inferno (Divina Commedia) chant XII, you can hear a spoken part by Salvatore Ciccarelli (bass) extracted by the original opera of the Italian poet in the original language, their mother tongue.

Founded in November 2015 by the drummer Graziano Ciccarelli with his brother Salvatore Andrea Ciccarelli on bass after Vincenzo Vic Mussolino (on guitar) and Lorenzo Gallo (on vocals) joined the band. After only 6 months, in April 2016, the band enters in the studio for recording its first demo, Three Marks Of Dreams. At the end of May 2017, Andrea Di Martino joined as the second guitarist of the band. Jumpscare played and toured across Campania and all the Italian peninsula during the 2016/17 and also they were openers for bands and artists like Dreamshade, Edu Falaschi (Angra, Almah), Giacomo Voli (Rhapsody Of Fire), Secret Sphere, Arthemis, Despite Exile, Teodasia, DGM and many more!

They joined the underground festival in their hometown of Napoli and also across Italy such as Volcano Rock Fest at Legend Club (Milan), Jobless Day and RoMetal Festival (Rome).In January of 2018 they joined the force of Impatto Rock Management (Genus Ordinis Dei, Red Riot, Wolfear, Dresda Code).

In October 2018 Lorenzo Gallo left the band de to artistic divergences and also for his decision to end his music career. After some weeks Ciro Kirion Silvano joined the band and started to working hard with the guys for their first album.

Mitt hovedfokus er musikk som er basert på progressiv tenking. Jeg er på ingen måte ensporet innen musikksmak, i likhet med intensjonen bak prog. Sjangerbegrepet er egentlig temmelig uinteressant annet enn til å gi en pekepinn om hva slags musikk det er snakk om i en anmeldelse. Jeg søker god musikk for å utfordre meg som lytter. God musikk til å trigge mine musikalske smaksløker, og til å sette i gang mine refleksjoner. Da er sjansen stor for at jeg utvikler meg og lærer, noe som bør være drivstoff for et hvert menneske. Fordi det å lære og utvikle seg er noe som tilfører livet en nødvendig porsjon "krydder". Slikt krydderet finner man blant annet i musikk. Ikke overraskende mener jeg at progressiv musikk har den fineste "smaken". På den annen side kan musikk med eller uten progressive elementer være godt nok til hverdags. Til fest derimot holder bare rendyrket prog! Må jo også få med at jeg rimelig kritisk, og jeg mener at det lages mye prog som er i beste fall uinteressant, og faktisk mye som er pinlig dårlig. Heldigvis oppveies dette av ekstremt dyktige aktører som for eksempel: Flower Kings, Mostly Autumn og White Willow, for å nevne noen tilfeldig valgte.
