Marsyas – Emergence

Marsyas was founded in Bergamo autumn 2014 by Lorenzo Pasini (vocals, guitar). Francesco Luzzana (bass, backing vocals) immediately joined the band, along with Marco Adobati (guitar). After a few months, the line-up was completed by Omar Ghezzi (drums) and Paolo Salvi (keyboards and synth). Francesco Luzzana was eventually replaced by Kamome Gabbiano (bass and backing vocal). Six days ago it was a big day for Marsyas because the debut album Emergence was released. The track Far As Far Run Thought,
The band name is hardly chosen at random, and the reason is that Marsyas has to do with music. In Greek mythology, the satyr Marsyas is a central figure in two stories involving music, in one, he picked up the double oboe (aulos) that had been abandoned by Athena and played it in the other, he challenged Apollo to a contest of music and lost his hide and life.
