Fourth Monarchy: With a progressive crescendo of cold and darkening riffs

Late last year Black Metal band Fourth Monarchy released a new single track The Rebirth Of The Fourth Monarchy after 11 years of absence from the scene.

The band states, «We consecrate this work to our own individual Quest for Knowledge. Black Metal is the Path of Individualism, the Kingdom of the truly Noble Man who triumphs over the Specters of the world’s Outer Darkness. Fourth Monarchy’s Journey through the Inner agony of the 1600s marks the struggle of the Elevated Spirit to seek the Truth in a world of Shadows. A new full-length album The Nocturnal Odes Of A Wandering Spirit is coming in spring or summer 2020».

The new release manifests as a progressive crescendo of cold and darkening riffs, alternated with rhythmic evocative moments. The lyrics describe the Baroque world of Ghosts and Shadows generated by the Obscurity of Counter-Reformation’s Europe, and the inner torment of the individual torn in his effort to pursue self-elevation in spite of the surrounding triumphant spiritual obscurantism. Fourth Monarchy is based between Brussels (Belgium) and Venice (Italy).
