Apogee: The album is an anniversary…..

Apogee is the solo project of Arne Schäfer, member of the German progressive rock band Versus X.  Apogee means the point at which a body moving round the Earth in an elliptical orbit is at its’ greatest distance from the Earth. On the new Apogee album Endurance Of The Obsolete you will find obvious Gentle Giant influences in form of counterpoint acapella vocal and convoluted instrumental arrangements with odd meters, as well as atmospheric textures of acoustic guitars, driving rock songs with solistic escapades and orchestral passages.

As usual the Apogee songs consist of multiple themes, which were interwoven to complex, dynamic-symphonic structures. Also fans of Jethro Tull and the early Genesis should take a look here. Two teasers from the 2018 album Conspiracy Of Fools.

Endurance Of The Obsolete have a total playing time at 65:34 and is the tenth album from Apogee, and the album is thus an anniversary.. Line-up: Arne Schäfer (Versus X): Lead and Backing Vocals, Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Keyboards, Fretted and Fretless Bass Guitars and Orchestral Arrangements and Eberhard Graef: Drums and Percussion.
