Odd Dimension: Matured and more expressive….

Odd Dimension is a prog metal band from Alessandria, Italy. They were formed in 2002 and released a demo in 2005. In 2011 they released of their long-awaited debut album, Symmetrical on Scarlet Records followed by Last Embrace to Humanity in 2013.

The album mixes influences from Progressive and Power Metal, with an end result sounding somewhere in-between Dream Theater, Symphony X, Vanden Plas, Blind Guardian and Fates Warning. Then there where silence until some days ago when the album Blue Dawn was released.

The band is more mature and expressive than ever due to new band members and many well-know and talented guest musicians. The Blue Dawn is an journey of the epic kind with good lyrics and powerful melodies. The track Escape To The Blue Planet caught my attention instantly. Jan Manenti showcase his very good voice and the song starts with delicious piano notes. The track is just over seven minutes and there are some spoken words close to the half mark. Then there are steady crescendo and even a staccato attack before the wonderful piano notes return at the end.
