Late in 2021 Osanna released their ninth album Il Diedro Del Mediterraneo. The new album came six years after the album Palepolitana from 2015 and it is very nice that this splendid band agian compose new and exciting prog music.
Osanna was formed in Napels, Italy in the late 60-s and they delivered five albums in the 1970’s. After 2 decades without a new release, the band has begun recording new music for the new century.
Before Osanna, Lino Vairetti and Massimo Guarino were in a band called Citta Frontale. When Osanna disbanded in 1974, the restarted Citta Frontale releasing a single album called El Tor, which also included Enzo Avitabile who would later perform as a member of Osanna.
Also at the time of the 1974 disbanding, Elio D’Anna and Danilo Rustici would form the band Uno who released a single – self-titled – album.
Osanna reformed in 1977 and there were on and off again reformations with line-up adjustments over the years until an actually reunion concert in 2001 launched a version of the band that has been productive in the new millennium.
